At the heart of the courtyard, a fully glazed gym wing connects seamlessly to the main living quarters — facing directly into the landscaped central space and allowing for a visual and physical link between activity and relaxation. This connection also promotes year-round use of the courtyard while enhancing natural surveillance and daylighting.
Full-height glazing to the main living areas maximises passive solar gain in winter months, while deep roof overhangs and timber louvres prevent overheating in summer. The combination of thick stone walls, carefully positioned openings, and cross ventilation strategies ensure the home remains thermally comfortable across all seasons.
Internally, the layout supports family life with a balance of open-plan living and quiet private zones. The internal spaces blur the boundary between inside and out — the courtyard acting as an outdoor room, ideal for entertaining, play, and retreat. This is a home designed to embrace nature, light, and landscape.
