Sligo Extension/ Full Architectural Service Studio
The extension is expressed as a crisp, dark-clad volume with floor-to-ceiling glazing, providing a striking contrast to the original white façade. This new space houses a bright and airy open-plan living area, visually connected to the surrounding landscape via large sliding doors and full-height glass. The dark vertical cladding and deep overhang give the extension a refined and elegant presence without overpowering the existing house.
Landscaping and external works have also been thoughtfully updated. The existing concrete apron has been replaced with a soft gravel driveway, tiered planting beds, and a generous new entrance terrace, improving both aesthetics and accessibility.
This project demonstrates how sensitive intervention can rejuvenate a tired rural home—adding light, space, and function while preserving the character of the original structure.
